The Koenigsegg Agera is one stupendously quick supercar. It can travel from a dead stop to 186 miles per hour and back down to zero in a scant 21.19 seconds. That's not even enough time to sit through a car insurance commercial. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 isn't quite as quick, but it can boast some serious performance chops all its own. The race-ready 911 can hit 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds, and a trip to 120 miles per hour takes only 11.5 seconds. But while the GT3 RS 4.0 can't quite keep up with the Agera once the rubber starts rolling, this athletic Porsche can stop a bit more quickly. The GT3 RS 4.0 has reportedly beaten the Agera's braking record of 186 mph to zero in 6.66 seconds, and we have the video that proves it. Hit the jump to watch the speedometer plunge from 186 mph to zero in only 6.5 seconds. Continue reading Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 claims new braking record

Koenigsegg is officially amazing, at least according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The well-known record-keeping organization has granted the Koenigsegg Agera the record of quickest 0-300-0 kilometers per hour by a two-seat production car. The time? A scant 21.19 seconds, recorded at the Angeholm Airfield in Sweden on September 2, 2011, with Robert Serwanski behind the wheel. That's just over 186 miles per hour, then back to a complete stop, in 21 seconds. Yowza. That's not the only impressive feat accomplished that day by the Agera, though it is the only one that was certified as a world record by Guinness. For the record, Koenegsegg's masterpiece scooted to 300 km/h in 14.53 seconds on its way to 200 mph in 17.68 seconds. It can stop with equal alacrity, taking an evil 6.66 seconds to halt from 300 km/h and 7.28 from 200 mph. The final stat is arguably the most impressive: 0-200 mph and back to 0 in just 24.96 seconds. Want to know what's even better than that? The fact that it was all recorded on video. Click past the break to see for yourself. Continue reading Koenigsegg Agera gets official Guinness World Record for quickest 0-300-0 km/h

We all know Koenigsegg makes blisteringly fast exotic cars. The latest hyper machine from Sweden is the Agera R, and Koenigsegg wanted to see just how fast its two-door toy could go. With the help of an (unnamed) third party to verify the results and a Racelogic VBox, the Koenigsegg team set out to make some high-speed passes at its Sweden-based proving ground. The results... are amazing: 0-300 km/h (186 mph) = 14.53 sec 0-200 mp/h = 17.68 sec 300-0 km/h = 6.66 sec 200-0 mp/h = 7.28 sec 0-300-0 km/h = 21.19 sec 0-200-0 mp/h = 24.96 sec The Koenigsegg Agera R has impressive acceleration numbers, but we're equally stunned by how quickly the car can come to a stop. Koenigsegg says it has video of the runs, which will be released soon. For now, all you can do is stare at the photo above and make vroom vroom noises while imagining the G-forces at play.Continue reading Koenigsegg claims records, says Agera R goes 0-200 mph in 17.68 sec.

A Koenigsegg key comes back to life - Click above to watch video after the jump Have you ever thought about getting your key cleaned? No? Neither have we. But if you were the owner of a Koenigsegg, perhaps you would. The auto-obsessed minds at eGarage.com took the key of their Koenigsegg CCX in for a bit of a polish. The body of the key is made from sterling silver, meaning the finish will tarnish over time. A trip to Cavallino jewelers and a few minutes under a polishing wheel help bring the key back to life. The eGarage team brought along their cameras so you could see the key both before and after its major rubdown. Click past the jump to watch the Koenigsegg key regain its shine. Also, while you're down there, you can watch a preview of the videos that eGarage will be pushing out in the very near future. Continue reading Cleaning the key to a happy Koenigsegg CCX

Pagani Huayra at Top Marques Monaco 2011 - Click above to view video after the jump If you missed any of the action from last week's Top Marques Monaco show, we've got you covered. This five-minute clip condenses all the glitzy highlights of this year's show into one horsepower-drenched summary. The show was a seriously drool-worthy affair, featuring a wide range of exotics; from classy, composed offerings from the likes of Aston Martin, to the delicious Pagani Huayra to the completely silly Tirrito Ayrton R. High-end tuning companies always make a strong showing at Top Marques Monaco, and this year was no different. Gemballa's two new offerings, the Tornado and the Mistrale, broke cover after the company's recent troubles. Add to that a host of offerings from ABT, Koenigsegg and Marussia, and you've got a great way to kill five minutes. Click past the jump for all the exotic glory. Thanks for the tip, HF! eGarage Koenigsegg CCX - Click above for high-res image gallery A new automotive website is getting ready to hit the Internet. Called eGarage, the site's goal is to become a haven for supercar enthusiasts. The team behind eGarage wants to prove it's serious, so it has teamed up with HRE Wheels to dress up a pair of hyper-exotic supercars. At the 2011 Supercar Experience in Miami, eGarage will show off a Koenigsegg CCX and SSC Ultimate Aero. The CCX wears a set of new 595 RS HRE Wheels and a matte-white wrap. Currently, eGarage.com is just a splash page displaying a car-centric rewording of the U.S. Marine Corps' Rifleman's Creed. (Really, guys?) We'll withhold full judgement on the site's true potential until we see the finished product. If nothing else, the CCX and Ultimate Aero indicate that there should be plenty of hardware to drool over once eGarage goes officially live. Koenigsegg Agera - Click above for high-res image gallery We've shown you the Koenigsegg Agera R, and now, making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show is the boring old run-of-the-mill Koenigsegg Agera. If the R is too hardcore for you, or you don't need a ski box, then this is the low-volume Swedish supercar of your dreams. Even the 'regular' Agera gets power from an in-house developed twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 that pushes out 940 horsepower and only weighs 430 pounds. Even more impressive is that the quoted weight figure includes the clutch, flywheel, exhaust, turbos and oil system. Backing up the engine is a seven-speed dual clutch transmission also developed by Koenigsegg. Though nobody is going to call a 940-hp supercar eco-friendly, Koenigsegg has made an effort to reduce C02 emissions, and the Agera manages a none-too-shabby 16 mpg in the European cycle.
